Conflict, Women & Workplace: Empowering
Ourselves, Honoring Others and Making Peace
Every person, regardless of gender, has different styles
of relating, managing work and coping with stress. It takes
time and experience with a person for a relationship to either
disintegrate or prosper. Every workplace encounter adds another
chapter in the history of that work relationship. What you
do and what you say with that person gets recorded, remembered
for posterity, regurgitated in the rumor mill and is never
forgotten. Ever.
Spend an interactive and entertaining day with Carol Bowser,
owner of Conflict Management Strategies, and learn concrete
skills to empower you, honor others and make peace. You will
think and laugh as we explore:
- Why is Conflict So Scary?
- How do I get beyond “Making Nice”?
- Where is my power? Do I even have any?
- Why isn’t this easier? Does gender play a part!?!
- How do I deal with bullies (of both genders) at work?
- How do I honor my Values, Needs and Interests?
In 2002 Carol founded Conflict Management Strategies, a
company emphasizing training and consulting on conflict resolution
in schools and workplace. She works with companies of all
sizes to increase productivity by improving working relationships.
Carol is a licensed attorney in Washington State. She earned
her law degree at Seattle University School of Law. In 1997
Carol began training in the areas of conflict resolution,
communication skills, negotiating and leadership. Carol also
brings her talents to the University of Phoenix Tacoma campus
in the areas of Employment Law and Business Law.
